1st Junior High School of Chrysoupolis, Chrysoupoli

Our school is situated in the north-east of Greece. Chyisoupoli, our home town, is near the sea, the river Nestos and beautiful small lakes. There are also mountains around with traditional villages. The area is mainly agricultural. The 1st junior high school is a lively school with 225 students and 33 teachers. The subjects they are taught are: Greek, ancient Greek, maths, physics, chemistry, geography, English, French, German, RE, physical education, arts, music, technology and computer science. We liked your project because we think that the practical implementation of science in real life is really very interesting. The science teacher of our school, who is in our team, explains the laws of physics making experiments using everyday materials. Then our students present what they have learnt to younger students. Also, they learn coding and robotics. Akrivi Karpozilou Fields of expertise: Physics, chemistry, geography, astronomy. Ariadni Myrisidou Fields if expertise: English language, history. Konstantinos Peristeridis Fields of expertise: Computer science, maths. All three of us are teachers with a permanent recruitment in this school. We live in the area and we are not going to leave our post for years. Our school has run projects about the environment, vocational guidance, art, theatre, cinema, astronomy and many more. Last year we dealt with an astronomy program and had a lot of activities about it.
